  • Osteochondral lesions. Tears and fractures in the cartilage on the bones in joints are characteristic of this condition, where you injure the tissue that connects the thighbone to the shinbone during sports. Activities that require sudden stops and changes in direction, jumping, and landing, such as basketball and football, where you would need football physio.
  • Stress and avulsion fractures. These injuries result from a repetitive injury that results in hairline fractures, often affecting the middle of the leg.
